Weber River Fishing Report 07/08/2026

  Location Weber River Overview The Weber is still at a healthy flow of 186cfs. Caddis, Sallies, and PMDs are the main hatch bugs. Some action beginning on Hoppers! Latest Flows ~186 CFS Fishing conditions Good! Nymphing has been more productive on most days but there has been some dry fly opportunities. Caddis in the evening has been the most productive with mid day PMDs close behind. On the warmer windy days there has been occasion hopper activity. Current Hatches Caddis: #14-18 (mid-day onward will be the best time)  PMDs: #16-20 (all day) Sallies: #12-16 (mid-day) Best Time Of Day 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Middle Provo River Fishing Report 07/08/2026

Current Conditions Summary The Middle Provo is flowing at 310 CFS, and below the River Road Bridge it is about 195 CFS. Nymphing is still the most consistent fishing. Fishing from sun-up to sun-down has been good. Dry fly opportunity is all day! Caddis opportunities all day, midges and PMDS mid morning. Still the occasional Drake sighting near the Dam. Streamer action during low light conditions. Flow & Water Discharge: 310 CFS (Cubic Feet per Second). Clarity: Clear Water Temp: Holding steady at 50 (°F). Outlook: Great midsummer fishing if flows remain at current level. If they drop things will get more technical. Weather & Timing Best Window: When the sun is up! Weather: mid 80s. Strategy: Anytime you can see. Its a good time to be out there Hatches & Bug Activity The main activity of the river right now is Caddis and PMDs. Midges: Seen hatching most mornings. PMDS: Expect these most mornings from 10am-2pm Caddis: Hatching most mornings and throughout the afternoon. They start laying thier eggs on the water in the evenings. Recommended Flies Nymphs (Sub-surface) Sow Bugs: #18-22 (Grey, Tan, Rainbow) Midges: #22-26 (KF Flasher, Stalcup Midge, WD-40s, Bling Midges). Junk Food: San Juan worms, small red annelids PMD Nymphs: #18-22 (Split Case, Quilldagons, Mayhems, BTS nymph, Juju Baetis). Caddis: #18-22 (Swing Caddis, Translucent Pupa, Helio Caddis, Hares ears) Dries (Surface) Midges: #18-20 (Griffith’s Gnat, Mother Shucker, Cluster Midge).   Location Weber River Overview Good News, the Weber is back up to a healthy, fishable flow of 160 CFS. Warmer days have been more productive since the flows came up. We have been seeing Caddis, Baetis, Midges, and Sows in the river Latest Flows ~160 CFS Fishing conditions Good! Nymphing has been more productive on most days, especially colder days, with there being more dry fly opportunity on warmer days. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. has been the ideal window to be fishing in on any given day, with there being more dry fly opportunities mid afternoon on warmer days.  Current Hatches Caddis: #18-22 (mid-day onward will be the best time)  Midges: #20-22 (all day) Baetis #20-24 (mornings until things start to warm up, we have been seeing more of these buggers on cooler days) Best Time Of Day 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Middle Provo River Fishing Report 05/17/2026

Current Conditions Summary The Middle Provo is flowing at 260 CFS, below the River Road Bridge it is about 140 CFS. Nymphing is still the most consistent fishing. Fishing from sun-up to sun-down has been good. Dry fly opportunity is sporadic, but fairly decent, and nymphing will be your most productive option. We have seen some caddis around, usually around 4 p.m. they will make an appearance, warmer days should be better for those bugs to come out. Flow & Water Discharge: 260 CFS (Cubic Feet per Second). Clarity: Clear Water Temp: Holding steady at 42 (°F). Outlook: Good late spring fishing! Weather & Timing Best Window: When the sun is up! Weather: Expect crisp mornings with temperatures rising into the 40s or low 50s. Strategy: No need to be out there pre sunrise, nymphing will continue to be a great option, with good dry fly windows throughout the day. Hatches & Bug Activity The main activity of the river right now is Midges and Baetis (BWOs). Midges: Seen hatching most mornings. Baetis (BWOs): Expect these on overcast or slightly stormy days. They tend to pop off around 11:30 PM - 2:00 PM. They are the main food source currently. Caddis: Mid-afternoon they should be out there! On warmer days, there is likely to be more caddis activity. Recommended Flies Nymphs (Sub-surface) Sow Bugs: #18-22 (Grey, Tan, Rainbow) Midges: #22-26 (KF Flasher, Stalcup Midge, WD-40s, Bling Midges). Lower Provo River Fishing Report 05/17/2026

Current Conditions Summary The Lower Provo is currently running at 400 CFS. At these higher flows, nymphing will be your most productive option. We have seen some moss and other debris moving through the river, but since the bump on May 8th, the water is now looking good. There are still some Blue Wings around, plenty of midges, and some early signs of caddis. The dry fly hatch is a little more sporadic and sparse with the higher water, but there are still some opportunities. Flow & Water Discharge: ~400 CFS. Clarity: Clear, but high wind days can flip the lake and create off color conditions. Water Temp: ~43°F Outlook: Good fishing ahead! Weather & Timing Best Window: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM Hatches & Bug Activity Sow Bugs: All day Midges: Decent hatches in the early morning (#22-24). Blue-Winged Olives (BWOs): mostly on cloudy, cooler days, size #20-22. Eggs: The rainbows will still eat an egg this time of year. Caddis: Keep your eyes peeled, warmer days and later afternoons should be the best window. Recommended Flies Nymphs Sow Bugs: #16-20 (Grey, Tan, Rainbow) BWO's: #20-22 (Phesant Tail, Stalcup Baetis nymph) Egg Patterns: #16-18 (Peach, Cheese, Pink). Midges: #22-24 (Bling Midge, WD-40, Zebra Midge). San Juan Worms: #12-14 (Red/Brown) – Works well in the deeper, faster runs. Dries (Surface) Midge Clusters: #18-20 (Griffith’s Gnat, Mother Shucker). BWO Dries: #20-22 (CDC Comparadun, Extended Body BWO). Matt's Midge: #22-24. Elk Hair Caddis: Tan/Brown #18-20 Streamers Rusty Trombone: (Olive). Leeches: #10 (Black/Brown).
