Current Conditions Summary
Double peak flows currently happening. At the dam from 6:45am to 9:45am and 4:00pm to 9:00pm the river is at around 3000cfs the rest of the time its between 1300cfs-1700cfs. Caddis and PMds are the main hatch bugs. Small ants have been picking up steam.
- Discharge: Double peak between 1300cfs and 3000cfs
- Clarity: Crystal clear (Section A is gin-clear; B & C may have slight tint if Red Creek is flowing, but generally clear).
- Water Temp: Between 56°F and 58°F.
- Outlook: Flow schedule can and probably will change.
Weather & Timing
- Best Window: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
- Weather: Highs in the high-80s, lows dipping into the low-60s.
- Strategy: Fishing has been good at no matter the flow. Nymphing and streamers have been good during the peroids of flow raising and dropping. Dry fly has been good all day but best during the low flow peroids.
Hatches & Bug Activity
- Caddis: Sporadic throughout the day and more prolific in the evenings.
- PMD: The main hatch occurring currently mid morning through mid afternoon.
- Scuds/Sow Bugs: A constant food source in the moss beds, especially in Section A.
- Yellow Sallies: Dwindling down but still some around.
