Overview

Spring is here and so are the flows. Its currently sitting at 500cfs, and were waiting for the springtime release to ease a full Deer Creek. Water is stained a bit on most days. Were still seeing midges and  BWOs. If nymphing is your game, go with scuds, sow bugs, midges, San Juan worms, and BWOs.  Streamer fishing has been ok, better on overcast days.

Lower Provo River Fishing Report 11/06/2018

Location

Lower Provo River

Overview

Fall is here and the flows have dropped.   The fishing has improved over the fall. The water has been murkey at times with Deer Creek being low and the wind turning the lake over. Dry fly fishing has been sporadic but good. Were seeing midges, BWOs and caddis. If your nymphing, stick to scuds, sow bugs, midges, San Juan worms, or BWOs.  With fall here the streamer fishing has been good, especially on overcast days. Please be mindful of the redds and spawning fish.

Lower Provo River Fishing Report 09/02/2018

Location

Lower Provo River

Overview

After this weekend the rafters should be subsiding for the year.  Flows are still a little bit high on the Lower due to downstream water demands, but the fishing can be good.  If your nymphing, stick to scuds, sow bugs, midges, San Juan worms, or PMD’s.  For dry flies try ants, hoppers, and some PMD’s.  With the higher flows and Fall approaching streamer fishing is a great option to try.  I usually stick to smaller, classic streamers on the Provo; Zonkers, Wooly Buggers, Leech patterns, etc.
