Middle Provo River Fishing Report 12/3/2019

    Location Middle Provo River Overview The Middle Provo is flowing at ~145 cfs. This flow is not likely to change much until the spring. The trout have been up on small BWOs and Midge dries lately with some steamer activity. So the fishing is good if you can withstand the cold. Middle Provo River Fishing Report 11/4/2019

Location Middle Provo River Overview The Middle Provo is flowing at ~145 cfs. We are getting close to the standard winter season flow. The brown trout are currently getting ready for their spawn, so be cautious about where you wade, cross, and fish the river to avoid destroying spawning redds. The fishing is good if you can withstand the cold weather.  Dry fly fishing might not be the most productive, but occasionally there will be a midge hatch and some BWOs. Nymphing, as always, will likely be your most productive method. Middle Provo River Fishing Report 09/3/2019

Location Middle Provo River Overview The Middle Provo flow steady at ~275 cfs. This is still a fishy flow. Fishing both a nymph rig or dry fly fishing can be productive. Overall the fishing is good. However, some days are better than others.  Dry fly fishing might not be the most productive all day, but when the PMDs hatch in the afternoon it should be better. Also try throwing a hopper. Nymphing will likely be your most productive method. Use midges and caddis nymphs in the mornings, and wait until you see PMDs to switch it up. Middle Provo River Fishing Report 07/30/2019

Location Middle Provo River Overview The Middle Provo flow steady at ~485 cfs. This is a fishy flow. Fishing a nymph rig or dry fly fishing can be productive. Fishing is great. Dry fly fishing might not be the most productive all day, but when the fish are hitting up top give it a try. They can be picky so make sure you are using lighter tippet. As always, nymphing will likely be your most productive method. Middle Provo River Fishing Report 07/03/2019

Location Middle Provo River Overview The Middle Provo flow is trending down. As of right now it is coming out of the dam at ~990 cfs. This flow is still a bit swift so continue to use caution when wading. Fishing is getting better overall. Dry fly fishing might not be the most productive, but give it a try in the slower water if you are determined to fish up top. Nymphing will likely be your most productive method. The fish are hugging the bank in most spots, so consider taking a step back and fish closer to the sides. Latest Flows Dam: ~990 cfs Charleston: ~1156 cfs Fishing Good, getting better.
