Location Lower Provo River Overview Spring runoff has made it down to the Lower Provo as well, with a very high and swift flow of ~1135 cfs coming out of Deer Creek Reservoir. If you were to try and fish you should stick to streamers or deep heavy nymph rigs. Use extreme caution near the river. Recent Flows ~1135 cfs Fishing Meh. Current Hatches maybe Midges Best Techniques Nymphs: Size 16 and smaller Sow bugs, bling midge, disco midge, baetis nymph, San Juan Worm Streamers : Size 4-12 Wooly bugger, sculpzilla, sparkle minnow, dungeon, flugenzombie, heisenburg Best Time Of Day 9AM - 5PM View archived lower Provo fishing reports here.
Location Middle Provo River Overview Runoff is here. The Middle Provo is at ~950 cfs so be very cautious. This flow is very high and the water is swift. Dry fly fishing on the Middle is sparse at this flow. Nymphing has been decent. Add more weight to your rig to drop those flies down. Slower water will be your friend. Try fishing the flies from your "junk food collection" AKA Sow Bugs, San Juan Worms, Wigglies, Squirmies, Scuds, and some midges or caddis nymphs. Small and Medium sized streamers have been working on cloudy days or when the water is slightly off color. Latest Flows Dam: ~950 cfs Charleston: ~1143 cfs Fishing OK Current Hatches Midges with a few caddis and skwala sightings Best Patterns Nymphs size 16 and smaller Sparkle Pupa, Sow Bug, Ray Charles, Zebra midge, Bling Midge in tan or gray, Cardinal Midge, Worm patterns, Scuds Dries size 18-22 Matt’s Midge, CDC Midge, Parachute adams, Elk Hair Caddis Streamers Dungeons, Wooly Buggers, Sparkle Minnow Best Time Of Day 9AM - 6 PM. Location Weber River Overview Weber River flows are ~728cfs and it is fishing pretty consistent with sow bugs, midge nymphs, caddis nymphs, and worm patterns. Fish are moving into faster water so change up where you drift. Weather affects the Weber heavily so there's a chance it will be off color with storms. Streamers might be worth a shot. Latest Flows ~728 CFS below Rockport Reservoir Fishing Overall fishing well with the possibility of a few off-color days Current Hatches Midges, Caddis Best Techniques: Nymphing fast and deep Nymphs and streamers Bigger sows 12-16 San Juan worms Zebra midge Best Time Of Day 10 AM to 3PM Photo Credit: Aaron Adams View archived Weber river fishing reports here.
Location Area Small Streams Overview Spring is here and so is the water. Fishing mainly depends on if its a tailwater or not. The high Uintas are sill locked in snow and mirror lake highway is still closed. Latest Flows Most freestone small streams are flooding or frozen up at the moment. Tail waters can be good right now. For up to date stream flows you can check out: https://waterdata.usgs.gov/ut/nwis/current/?type=flow Fishing Ok Current Hatches Midges, BWOs, Stones Best Techniques dry dropper rigs, streamers, nymphing Best Time Of Day 10 AM to 4 PM View archived small streams fishing reports here.
Location Lower Provo River Overview Spring is here and so are the flows. Its currently sitting at 500cfs, and were waiting for the springtime release to ease a full Deer Creek. Water is stained a bit on most days. Were still seeing midges and BWOs. If nymphing is your game, go with scuds, sow bugs, midges, San Juan worms, and BWOs. Streamer fishing has been ok, better on overcast days. Recent Flows 500 CFS Fishing Ok Current Hatches Midges and BWOs Best Techniques Nymphs: Size 16 and smaller Sow bugs, bling midge, disco midge, baetis nymph, mayhem emerger, San Juan Worm Dry flies: Size 20 and smaller Parachute Adams, winger BWO, comparadun BWO Hanging Midge, Silvey's midge, cluster Midge Streamers : Size 4-12 Wooly bugger, sculpzilla, sparkle minnow, mini-dungeon, slump buster, Zonker Best Time Of Day 9AM - 5PM View archived lower Provo fishing reports here.
