Our Utah fly fishing reports offer a brief overview of current conditions on our waters. You'll find fishing reports for the main Utah rivers and streams that we guide on and fish regularly. Reports for the Lower Provo, Middle Provo, Weber River, Green River and Small Streams are included.
We write the reports based on our daily experiences on the water and information received from customers. We update the reports as conditions change and our schedule permits. If you don’t see what you are looking for, please give us a call at the shop or contact us here. We are always happy to update you with current conditions on many other Utah waters and fisheries in surrounding states as well.

Location Area Small Streams Overview Small Streams fishing is okay. Freestone small streams are experiencing higher temps around mid-day, bug hatches are slow and fish are taking refuge. Tailwater small stream rivers are still fishing pretty good, just be aware of those warmer temperatures. Latest Flows For up to date stream flows you can check out: https://waterdata.usgs.gov/ut/nwis/current/?type=flow Fishing Good Current Hatches Small terrestrials Caddis PMD's Ants Best Techniques Dry Fly Fishing Dry Dropper Best Time Of Day Early morning - mid day Late afternoons closer to sun down
Location Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam Overview As of today the Green is slowly being bumped to 4600 CFS for an experimental bass flow. It will return to 900 CFS on Saturday the 29th and we expect the fishing to pick up afterwards. Prior to the bump we were seeing fish looking up for caddis, PMD's and Sallies. The cicada fishing hasn't been super great. Current Hatches PMD's Caddis Yellow Sallies Best Techniques Nymphing Dry Dropper Dry fly Flies Sallies (14-16) Caddis (14-18) PMD's (16-18) Crickets (12-16) Ants (12-16) Best Time Of Day 10am to 6pm
Location Weber River Overview The Weber river between Rockport and Echo reservoirs is fishing good! Flows are fluctuating between !80 CFs and 190 CFS, a proper flow for wading, bug hatches and the fish. We have seen caddis on early morning and afternoons and PMD's sporadically throughout the day. Nymphing has been productive throughout the day, the dry fly fishing is tricky, but there are fish looking up. Latest Flows ~180 CFS Fishing Good Current Hatches Sowbug (16-22) Midges (20-24) PMD's (18-22) Caddis (16-22) in tan Best Time Of Day All day, the river tends to turn on and off at random
Location Middle Provo River Overview Flows are slowly coming down and the river is much more wadable. The Middle Provo is coming out of the dam at about 600 CFS and is just over 400 CFS below the diversion. Nymphing has been the more productive option in the earlier hours of the day, there is some dry fly opportunity throughout the day, but look for those fish that are willing to eat off the surface. Water temps are still on the colder side and need to come up a little bit higher before we start to see any drakes, there are nymphs in the water they just are not quite hatching yet. Latest Flows Dam: ~600 River Road Bridge: ~400 Fishing Good Current Hatches **the dry fly hatch across all bugs is still very weak, again, hunt for fish that are looking up.** Caddis Drakes PMD's Best Patterns Drakes (14-16) nymphs will be more productive Caddis (18-20) Sows (18-22) PMD's (18-22) Midges (20-24) Best Time Of Day All day
Location Lower Provo River Overview The Lower Section of the Provo River below Deer Creek Reservoir is currently at about 400 CFS, this is still a higher flow but a good flow for any kind of fly fishing. Targeting slower sections of river has been more productive. Tubers have been floating down the river at about 9:30 in the morning, sometimes earlier on weekends and warmer days. Nymphing has been the more productive option while the flows are still on the higher side, as we reach the warmer parts of the day, dry fly opportunities present themselves. Fishing Good Current Hatches Sow Bugs (18-22) PMD's (18-22) Caddis (16-20) Yellow Sallies (16-18) Best Techniques nymphing, dry fly
