Our Utah fly fishing reports offer a brief overview of current conditions on our waters. You'll find fishing reports for the main Utah rivers and streams that we guide on and fish regularly. Reports for the Lower Provo, Middle Provo, Weber River, Green River and Small Streams are included.
We write the reports based on our daily experiences on the water and information received from customers. We update the reports as conditions change and our schedule permits. If you don’t see what you are looking for, please give us a call at the shop or contact us here. We are always happy to update you with current conditions on many other Utah waters and fisheries in surrounding states as well.
Following are the latest reports in descending order of when they were last updated. As a result, you may see multiple reports on the same destination if we haven't updated one of the other destinations recently. Lower Provo River
Overview
Mid to late March throughout April is a fantastic time to get out on the Lower. The flow on the lower Provo is around 150 CFS. The fishing has been good . Nymphing has been the most productive method, but fish are rising occasionally along the edges of the soft seams. The midges are hatching and some Baetis, sow bugs in small sizes are also working. The tip for the lower is to give the streamers a shot during the low light periods, mornings, evenings, or on overcast days. For those of you nymphing find a deep slower area and work the water until you find the depth and area with fish then stay there, fish are grouped together and not moving much to eat the small nymphs. Expect light strikes and be prepared!

Middle Provo River
Overview
March is a fantastic time to get out on the Middle Provo. The days are longer, the temperatures are warmer, and the fish are active. Our first major hatch of midges has begun with the buffalo midges and blue wings are being spotted as well. Dry fly fishing can be fantastic depending on the day and the nymph and streamer fishing is quite productive as well. Cloudy days will bring out the beatis and sunny days will bring out the midges. The middle of the day into the afternoon is still the best time to hit the river in the Spring. If you get there early or stay late the streamer fishing has been good before and after the hatch.

Overview
Water levels on the Weber are decent right now. For those of you who want more solitude and less busy fishing conditions the Weber is right for that now. Fishing will be good, approach the deeper runs with caution try not to spook the fish before getting your line wet. Sow bugs, some small midges, and beatis are your best bet. try lightly weighted streamer early and late or during the overcast days.

Overview
Water levels on the Weber are super low right now. For those of you who want more solitude and less busy fishing conditions the Weber is right for that now. Fishing will be challenging at best, approach the deeper runs with caution try not to spook the fish before getting your line wet. Sow bugs and some small midges are your best bet. try lightly weighted streamer early and late or during the overcast days.

Middle Provo River
Overview
Most of our angling of late has been on the Middle Provo. Fishing has been good but varied depending on conditions and location. Sunny days have been productive on nymphs, midges and sow bugs in very small sizes, as the guides say start at size 20 and work even smaller from there. Cloudy days with calm conditions have been the best for dry fly fishing, once again keep the flies small size 22 and 24, if you can see them fish even smaller, size 28 Griffiths gnat will get them well, but you need fighter pilot vision to see them. Streamers have been catching some but on a very limited basis, best on the overcast days or other low light conditions. Nice days on the weekends have produced full parking lots, sorry, but weekdays have been less crowded. Stormy days have been the least busy. Most of the anglers are working the water closer to the Jordanelle Dam, the further downstream you travel the less anglers you should see. The hot tip for the Middle has been fishing the lower part of the river, less anglers and less fishing pressure and more productive nymph fishing, some rainbows also. Try a small purple zebra midge 22 or 24 and work the water carefully making sure you cover all the likely spots and depths. Once again fish are in groups and where you find one you should find some more also. Not too long to wait now and we should see some larger midges and a big improvement in the dry fly action. When it happens we will update this report.
