Our Utah fly fishing reports offer a brief overview of current conditions on our waters. You'll find fishing reports for the main Utah rivers and streams that we guide on and fish regularly. Reports for the Lower Provo, Middle Provo, Weber River, Green River and Small Streams are included.

We write the reports based on our daily experiences on the water and information received from customers. We update the reports as conditions change and our schedule permits. If you don’t see what you are looking for, please give us a call at the shop or contact us here. We are always happy to update you with current conditions on many other Utah waters and fisheries in surrounding states as well.

As a result, you may see multiple reports on the same destination if we haven't updated one of the other destinations recently. Green River Fishing Report 08/23/23

Location Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam Overview The Green below Flaming Gorge Dam is flowing at an average of 1850 CFS. There is a bump from 1500 CFS up to 2000 CFS at 8:00 a.m. and another smaller bump to 2200 CFs at 2:00 p.m. With the inconsistent weather patterns the last week or so fishing has been okay, but in the last few days we have seen more fish looking at the surface again. Early mornings, nymphing will be your best option and as things warm up there will be some more dry fly opportunity. Small Streams Fishing Report 08/23/2023

Location Area Small Streams Overview Small stream fishing has been good, some streams are fishing better than others. Water temps across the board are on the warmer side. We are still seeing PMD's, Caddis, and hoppers. Early mornings and late afternoons have been some of the more productive hours (before and after the highest heat times of the day.) Mid-day you will sometimes notice a lull in the fishing as fish beat the hottest time of the day. Location Area Small Streams Overview Small stream fishing has been good, some streams are fishing better than others. Water temps across the board are pretty good, be wary of wide open small streams as they are the ones where temps will get higher, faster! We are seeing some PMD's, Caddis, and hoppers. Green River Fishing Report 07/29/23

Location Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam Overview The Green below Flaming Gorge Dam is flowing at 1350 CFS. Starting tomorrow (July 30th) the average daily releases will be 1800 CFS. There will be a 10 a.m. bump from about 1200 CFS up to 2000+ CFS. This fishing has been good, but can be tricky. We are seeing lots of fish pushed up close to the banks. Dry fly fishing has been good, but do not rule out running a dropper (or even just nymphing.) Weber River Fishing Report 07/29/2023

Location Weber River Overview The Weber has been fishing good. Some Yellow sallies are hatching and there are PMD's and Caddis throughout the day. Flows have stabilized and we are seeing a consistent flow of 150 to 170 CFS. We are in the warmest part of the year, and the Weber can warm up, this does not mean you can not fish it, but keep an eye on those water temps. Latest Flows ~170 below Rockport Dam Fishing Good Current Hatches Midges (20-24) PMD's (18-22) Sow Bugs (14-16) Hothead in Tan! Yellow Sallies (try the Mayhem in black or grey) Caddis (size 20 - 18) Best Time Of Day 9am to 5pm (midday can be tough with the high heat, but can still be good.)
