Our Utah fly fishing reports offer a brief overview of current conditions on our waters. You'll find fishing reports for the main Utah rivers and streams that we guide on and fish regularly. Reports for the Lower Provo, Middle Provo, Weber River, Green River and Small Streams are included.
We write the reports based on our daily experiences on the water and information received from customers. We update the reports as conditions change and our schedule permits. If you don’t see what you are looking for, please give us a call at the shop or contact us here. We are always happy to update you with current conditions on many other Utah waters and fisheries in surrounding states as well.

Location Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam Overview The Green below Flaming Gorge Dam is flowing at 1350 CFS. Starting tomorrow (July 30th) the average daily releases will be 1800 CFS. There will be a 10 a.m. bump from about 1200 CFS up to 2000+ CFS. This fishing has been good, but can be tricky. We are seeing lots of fish pushed up close to the banks. Dry fly fishing has been good, but do not rule out running a dropper (or even just nymphing.) Fishing Good Current Hatches Caddis Yellow Sallies Crickets Hoppers midges Best Techniques Dry and dropper fishing nymphing Flies Crickets (10-14) Midges (18-22) Caddis (16-18) Sows and Scuds (18-20) Best Time Of Day 7am to 5pm
Location Weber River Overview The Weber has been fishing good. Some Yellow sallies are hatching and there are PMD's and Caddis throughout the day. Flows have stabilized and we are seeing a consistent flow of 150 to 170 CFS. We are in the warmest part of the year, and the Weber can warm up, this does not mean you can not fish it, but keep an eye on those water temps. Latest Flows ~170 below Rockport Dam Fishing Good Current Hatches Midges (20-24) PMD's (18-22) Sow Bugs (14-16) Hothead in Tan! Yellow Sallies (try the Mayhem in black or grey) Caddis (size 20 - 18) Best Time Of Day 9am to 5pm (midday can be tough with the high heat, but can still be good.)
Location Middle Provo River Overview The flows on the Middle Provo River have finally come down to a normal flow of 300 CFS. Water temps are good and the river is much more navigable. Hatches have stayed relatively the same with Caddis and PMD's hatching throughout the day. There is a lull in hatches from around 3:00 to roughly 5:00 during the warmest part of the day. We are seeing the end of the Green Drake hatch, but you may still find some fish here and there throughout the day willing to eat one. Location Middle Provo River Overview The flows on the Middle Provo have been bumped back up 20 about 720 CFS. We have mostly been seeing Caddis and PMD's on any given day. There are a few Yellow Sallies around throughout the day. Green Drakes have been spotted on the lower parts of the river, and we expect to see them moving upstream soon. Nymphing has still been the most productive option. Location Weber River Overview The Weber has been fishing good. Some Yellow sallies are hatching and some PMD's as well as caddis. The nymph fishing has been very good, just like the Provo, finding good water is the most challenging part of the day. They are still eating the sow bug consistently throughout the day, with PMD's and Yellow Sallies being effective in the morning. Flows have been fluctuating between250 CFS and 160 CFS, but the fishing has stayed consistent. Nymphing will be your most productive option.
