Our Utah fly fishing reports offer a brief overview of current conditions on our waters. You'll find fishing reports for the main Utah rivers and streams that we guide on and fish regularly. Reports for the Lower Provo, Middle Provo, Weber River, Green River and Small Streams are included.

We write the reports based on our daily experiences on the water and information received from customers. We update the reports as conditions change and our schedule permits. If you don’t see what you are looking for, please give us a call at the shop or contact us here. We are always happy to update you with current conditions on many other Utah waters and fisheries in surrounding states as well.

As a result, you may see multiple reports on the same destination if we haven't updated one of the other destinations recently. Green River Fishing Report 03/14/2018

  Location Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam Overview The fishing on the Green has been good. The river flows have been around 1800 CFS.  The midges and some Baetis have been hatching.  Look for fish to be sipping on midges in the slow back eddies and scum lines.  Streamers are better on sink tips and if you can change the tip around work a type 8 on upper A and type 6 lower A and  B. The hatches are happening best around mid day midges first and then some Baetis are out too. March is a great time to get out and find solitude on the river before the mid April rush. Lower Provo River Fishing Report 03/14/2018

Location Lower Provo River Overview Mid to late March throughout April is a fantastic time to get out on the Lower.  The flow on the lower Provo is around 150 CFS. The fishing has been good . Nymphing has been the most productive method, but fish are rising occasionally along the edges of the soft seams. The midges are hatching and some Baetis, sow bugs in small sizes are also working. The tip for the lower is to give the streamers a shot during the low light periods, mornings, evenings, or on overcast days.  For those of you nymphing find a deep slower area and work the water until you find the depth and area with fish then stay there, fish are grouped together and not moving much to eat the small nymphs. Middle Provo River Fishing Report 03/14/2018

Location Middle Provo River Overview March is a fantastic time to get out on the Middle Provo.  The days are longer, the temperatures are warmer, and the fish are active.  Our first major hatch of midges has begun with the buffalo midges and blue wings are being spotted as well.  Dry fly fishing can be fantastic depending on the day and the nymph and streamer fishing is quite productive as well.  Cloudy days will bring out the beatis and sunny days will bring out the midges.  The middle of the day into the afternoon is still the best time to hit the river in the Spring.  If you get there early or stay late the streamer fishing has been good before and after the hatch. Latest Flows Dam: 146 CFS Charleston: 183 CFS Fishing Great Current Hatches Midges and Baetis Best Patterns Ray charles, purple zebra midge, bling midge, purple juju baetis, cluster midge, hanging midge, very small Griffiths gnat, small grey RS 2, Morgans midge, small para cluster midge, very small para Adams, jujubee midge and Barrs emerger. Weber River Fishing Report 03/14/2018

Location Weber River Overview Water levels on the Weber are decent right now. For those of you who want more solitude and less busy fishing conditions the Weber is right for that now. Fishing will be good, approach the deeper runs with caution try not to spook the fish before getting your line wet. Sow bugs, some small midges, and beatis are your best bet. try lightly weighted streamer early and late or during the overcast days. Latest Flows 77 CFS. Location Weber River Overview Water levels on the Weber are super low right now. For those of you who want more solitude and less busy fishing conditions the Weber is right for that now. Fishing will be challenging at best, approach the deeper runs with caution try not to spook the fish before getting your line wet.
