Our Utah fly fishing reports offer a brief overview of current conditions on our waters. You'll find fishing reports for the main Utah rivers and streams that we guide on and fish regularly. Reports for the Lower Provo, Middle Provo, Weber River, Green River and Small Streams are included.
We write the reports based on our daily experiences on the water and information received from customers. We update the reports as conditions change and our schedule permits. If you don’t see what you are looking for, please give us a call at the shop or contact us here. We are always happy to update you with current conditions on many other Utah waters and fisheries in surrounding states as well.
Following are the latest reports in descending order of when they were last updated. As a result, you may see multiple reports on the same destination if we haven't updated one of the other destinations recently. If you want to view previous fishing reports, you can click on the category name link under the report title or use the dropdown menu in the top navigation or follow the links in the sidebar. Location
Area Small Streams
Overview
Many of our small streams are still to hard to reach due to snow at higher altitude. That being said some of the small streams that we can reach have been fishing well. Our normal is not to give our small stream locations here but understand that if you do stop by the shop we have some good intel on the small stream fishing and it has been good in some places.

Lower Provo River
Overview
The Lower Provo is running a little high now the current flow is 330 CFS. Fishing has been ok the river was running even higher last week. With all the shakeup over private vs. public water access our guides have decided to fish more on the Middle so if the Lower report seems brief, it is. Try Sow bugs, BWO nymphs.

Location
Weber River
Overview
The Weber is flowing much better now, despite more Dam problems at Rockport (another couple hours of no water release 0 CFS ). Reports of some Mother’s day caddis hatches on the lower part of the Mid-Weber. This would be a good time to fish all the sections of the Weber Nymphs and dries and be prepared for Mothers day Caddis, we have also been getting them on sow bugs and some large midge larvae.

Location
Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam
Overview: Some Big Dry action
Flows have come up and the daily average is now around 1800 CFS. Flows start at 1100 in the morning and bump up to 2350 at the dam around 11 am every morning another bump takes it up to 2429 at 5 pm. Midges and BWO’s are still hatching. The fishing changes each day when the water comes up. Keep in mind it takes a while for the bump in water to reach all the way down to section C. During the morning hours or during the periods of low (1100) cfs the fish are working on small midges and BWO nymphs, we have been getting them on shallow rigs and deep rigs. After the water comes up the fish seem to want larger nymphs Scuds, worms, and using a larger BWO Nymph has worked also. We were very happy to also have some good days on the larger dries last week fish were looking up and we were able to get good action on the lower river with the MFC para-cricket. Streamer are still fishing well at times try them late in the day if you are out for an afternoon and evening float.
